Coolum is the Sunshine Coast holiday destination where your holidays can take on a new dimension. Here you will find holiday activities that all of your family can enjoy. It is a beachside location on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, that is probably the easiest destination get to on the entire coast as the Sunshine Coast airport is located just down the road at Marcoola. This region is famous for many reasons, but for the holiday market, they are obvious. Coolum is a surfer’s paradise with an ocean beach that has consistent waves. It is home to two of the best golf courses in south east Queensland and it is close to Noosa and all the fine dining and other attractions that are popular there. The Noosa and Coolum hinterland is full of attractions that will provide extra holiday activities to entertain your family. Mount Coolum dominates the landscape and is a great place for bushwalks. Climb to its summit and you will fin spectacular panoramic views over the entire Sunshine Coast region.
Accommodation in Coolum is excellent. You can stay in a high rise beachfront resort with spectacular ocean views or in one of the best golfing resorts you can imagine like the Hyatt Coolum resort or the Novotel Twin Waters resort. The Grand Mercure Twin Waters also provides top class family accommodation. Both these golf courses are world standard and both host first class tournaments. Visitors are welcome at both courses. In the immediate vicinity of Coolum, that is within a half hours drive, you will be able to select from another five top quality courses so if you want a golfing holiday, you couldn’t choose a better place to base yourself than Coolum.
The Coolum shopping center is right on the beachfront and you can walk here from most of the Coolum holiday accommodation. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from and alfresco dining is the order of the day. This commercial area always has a great holiday atmosphere. Day trips can be made from Coolum to Noosa, the Blackall Ranges, the Eumundi markets, and to Steve Irwins Australia Zoo.
There is no way you can visit Coolum for a holiday and not have a fantastic time.
