Noosa»» Click here for more information Noosa Accommodation «« Please don’t tell me you have never had a holiday in Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast! I have to ask, why? This is one of the best natural beachside locations in Australia complemented by some of the finest resorts money can buy and a holiday atmosphere similar to the French Riviera. All of this is available within a few hours from any Australian capital city. Noosa is the destination of choice for an annual holiday, for thousands of Australians from southern states and for New Zealanders looking for a warm place to thaw themselves out during the southern winter. The main attractions in Noosa are the beach, the National Park, the Noosa River and the Hastings Street precinct and these are all within walking distance of each other. Hastings Street is the central hub where all the holiday makers gather during the day and the evening. It is a haven of superb resorts, fantastic restaurants, alfresco cafes and elegant shopping. It runs parallel to the beach and you can walk through arcades between the resorts onto the beach itself. The beach is the resting place for the hoi polloi and the beautiful. Bikini clad maidens and buffed young surfers pose here every day as it is “the” place to be seen while holidaying on the Sunshine Coast. The bay is protected from the swells by Noosa headland during most weather conditions, however, when a large swell starts to build from the east, usually kicked up by a cyclone in the Coral Sea, the surf in Noosa begins to rise and take shape. When this happens, surfers congregate here from all over the east coast to ride the perfect waves that form here. The Noosa National Park is a haven from the hustle and bustle of the holiday atmosphere in Hastings Street. You can walk to the park from the southern end of Hastings Street and a boardwalk follows the shoreline around to the park entrance. Here you can go bushwalking and find a quiet cove of beach that you can have almost to your self or you can go in search of local wildlife and maybe see one of the local Koala colony that lives within the park. The Noosa River is a playground for holiday makers with calm waters that are great for kids, excellent fishing, kite surfing and exploring in a kayak or canoe. Aquatic tours to the Noosa Everglades will take you to a spectacular ecosystem that is unique in Australia and fishing charters onto the open ocean also operate from a marina in the Noosa River. All of these wonderful activities will ensure that any stay you choose to have in Noosa will be rewarded by a most relaxing and rewarding experience.
